Montana State turns back Eastern Washington 85-71
BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Tyler Hall scored 24 points and Marcus Colbert had 23 to lead Montana State to an 85-71 win over Eastern Washington on Thursday night.
The Bobcats (8-11, 3-4 Big Sky) made 11 of 22 behind the arc and shot 30 of 66 overall (45.5 percent).
Bogdan Bliznyuk had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles (9-9, 3-3), who had won three straight overall and five straight over Montana State. Eastern Washington went 7 of 25 from 3-point range and shot 42 percent overall (23 of 55). Austin McBroom added 19 points and Venky Jois had 11.
Hall's 3-pointer at the buzzer gave the Bobcats a 38-30 lead at the break. Colbert had 17 points with five 3s.
Three different Eagles drilled 3s and Jois made a layup to pull the Eagles with 48-47 with 13:24 to go. But Colbert made back-to-back baskets and Hall had a 3-point play in a 9-2 run.
