CCSU snaps 10-game skid with 78-67 win over Bryant
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- Brandon Peel scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead Central Connecticut State to a 78-67 victory over Bryant on Thursday night, snapping a 10-game losing streak.
Peel was 8 of 14 from the floor, made all six free-throw attempts and added five assists.
Jahlil Nails chipped in 17 points for the Blue Devils (2-18, 1-8 Northeast Conference).
Nisre Zouzoua had 19 points for Byrant (7-15, 4-5), which has lost four straight. Marcel Pettway had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Bryant had an 11-point lead early in the second half but Evan Phoenix made consecutive layups and had seven points as part of an 18-6 run to give the Blue Devils a 62-61 lead with five minutes left.
The Bulldogs' Shane McLaughlin made a field goal, and Nails answered with a 3-pointer at the 4:24-mark, sparking a 16-4 surge to end it.
