Hermannsson leads LIU Brooklyn over Mount St. Mary's 77-74
NEW YORK -- Martin Hermannsson scored 21 points, Jerome Frink had 19 and LIU Brooklyn beat Mount St. Mary's 77-74 on Thursday night.
Hermannsson was 5 of 11 from the field and made 9 of 10 free throws. Frink added a game-high nine rebounds and finished on 7-of-14 shooting. Joel Hernandez chipped in 14 points for LIU Brooklyn (11-11, 5-6 Northeast Conference).
BK Ashe scored 21 points and Junior Robinson had 20 for Mount St. Mary's (10-14, 7-4).
LIU Brooklyn took the lead with 17 minutes remaining and led the rest of the way. Hernandez's dunk stretched the Blackbirds' lead to 69-62 with two minutes left.
Ashe made a layup and added a 3-pointer to pull the Mountain Hawks to 76-74 with nine seconds to go. Hermannsson made a free throw with five seconds left to seal it.
