NEW YORK -- Jerome Frink scored 24 with 14 rebounds, and Martin Hermannsson had 22 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals to help LIU Brooklyn beat Sacred Heart 92-84 Monday night.
Frink made 10 of 14 field-goal attempts, including three 3-pointers, and blocked four shots. Joel Hernandez finished with 15 points and Aakim Saintil 14 for LIU Brooklyn.
Cane Broome scored all of Sacred Heart's points during an 8-2 run that tied the score at 77 with 3:06 to play.
Frink and Saintil hit back-to-back layups and, after Broome made 1 of 2 free throws on the other end, Saintil made another layup then two foul shots to make it 85-75 with 49 seconds left.
The Blackbirds (10-10, 4-5 Northeast) made 7 of 8 free throws from there to hold off Sacred Heart (5-15, 4-5).
Broome hit six 3s and finished with 38 points, both career highs, to lead the Pioneers.
