Sacred Heart wins 3rd straight, topples LUI Brooklyn, 98-90
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Jordan Allen scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and sparked Sacred Heart to its third-straight win, all on its home court, by beating LIU Brooklyn in a Northeast Conference shootout, 98-90 on Saturday afternoon.
LIU Brooklyn used a 12-3 run that started five minutes into the game and left the Blackbirds with a 26-19 advantage, but Sacred Heart erased the lead before halftime and trailed by just three at halftime, 47-44.
Cane Broome gave Sacred Heart the lead for good with a pair of free throws with 16:11 to play.
Broome finished with 19 points and Tevin Falzon added 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Sacred Heart (8-15, 7-5). The Pioneers shot 52.4 percent from the field (33 of 63), including 11 of 22 from beyond the arc.
Hermannsson scored 25 points and Aakim Saintil added 23 points and 11 assists for LIU Brooklyn (11-12, 5-7).
