ETSU beats The Citadel 67-51
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- T.J. Cromer scored 17 points, Isaac Banks pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds and had 10 points and East Tennessee State defeated The Citadel 67-51 on Thursday night.
Deuce Bello added 15 points with the Buccaneers' top three scorers combining to go 18 of 32 for 56 percent, though ETSU shot just 40 percent as a team and only 4 of 21 from 3-point range.
Quayson Williams and Derrick Henry scored 11 points apiece for the Bulldogs (10-18, 3-12 Southern), who were only 17-of-61 shooting for 28 percent and 5 of 30 for 17 percent from the arc in their sixth straight loss.
The Citadel, which trailed by 10 at halftime, got as close as five in the second half but Bellow's bucket gave the Bucs a 61-51 lead with two minutes left and their lead grew from there.
ETSU (18-10, 11-4) held a 58-36 rebounding advantage.
