Cromer leads East Tennessee State over Morehead State 75-72
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- T.J. Cromer scored a career-best 25 points to lead East Tennessee State to a 75-72 win over Morehead State on Wednesday night.
Cromer finished with 7-of-15 shooting from the field and 10 of 12 from the line. Deuce Bello had 12 points off the bench for the Buccaneers (6-6), who averaged 46.8 percent shooting from the field and 72.2 percent from the line.
East Tennessee State built a 21-12 lead with 8:25 to play in the first half and led 39-21 at the break.
Morehead State surged late in the second half, going 16-8 to close the gap to eight points, 66-58, with 3:26 to play. A Cromer jumper made it 68-58 and the Buccaneers held on for the win.
Xavier Moon scored 20 points to lead the Eagles (6-6). DeJuan Marrero posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
