LIU Brooklyn upends Wagner 82-69 behind 2 double-doubles
NEW YORK -- Jerome Frink scored 26 points with 14 rebounds and Martin Hermannsson added 17 with 11 boards -- his first career double-double -- and LIU Brooklyn upended Wagner 82-69 on Thursday night, knocking the Seahawks out of a three-way tie for first place in conference.
Nura Zana added a season-high 16 points for the Blackbirds (12-12, 6-7 Northeast Conference), who swept the season series with Wagner.
Frink, counting two seasons at Florida International, surpassed 1,000 points in his career.
The Blackbirds outrebounded Wagner 50-31 and shot 46-percent from the floor (28 of 61) while Wagner shot 26 for 68 from the field for 38 percent.
Wagner (15-9, 8-5) was led by Michael Carey's 10th double-double of the season -- 12 points, 10 rebounds. Mike Aaman also scored 12 points, and JoJo Cooper added 11.
The Seahawks entered the game in a three-way tie in the NEC with Farleigh Dickinson and Saint Francis (N.Y.) at 8-4.
