IPFW beats Oral Roberts 90-84 behind Landis' 21 points
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Max Landis scored 21 points to help lead IPFW withstand Oral Roberts 90-84 on Wednesday night in the Summit League opener for both teams.
Landis, who entered the game averaging 15.7 points per game, is now averaging 21.8 in his last four contests.
IPFW (11-4) managed to overcome a career high by Obi Emegano who finished with 38 points for Oral Roberts (8-7). Emegano shot 15 for 24 from the field and 4 for 5 from the free-throw line.
Emegano's jumper with 7:59 left tied the game at 69. But John Konchar's 3-point play 50 seconds later put IPFW on top for good.
Down 86-79 after two Konchar free throws, DaQuan Jeffries hit a layup then collected a steal leading to a another layup to make it 86-83 with 55 seconds left to play.
Mo Evans then shot 4 for 4 from the free-throw line to protect the win.
