IUPUI holds on to beat Div. II Kentucky State 86-82
INDIANAPOLIS -- Nick Osborne scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds as IUPUI held on in the final seconds to beat Division II Kentucky State 86-82 on Saturday.
Darell Combs had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Jaguars (2-2). Jordan Pickett added 15 points and Matt O'Leary had 13.
IUPUI trailed 39-37 at the break but opened the second half with a 13-4 run capped by a 3-pointer by Marcellus Barksdale to take a 50-43 lead. Kentucky State kept it tight and went on top 63-60 with 8:11 to play.
The Jaguars came back to take an 11-point lead, 83-72, with 1:53 left but a late 3-pointer by Tryston Ford and a pair of free throws by Dorian Jordan helped put Kentucky State within two, 84-82 with 26 seconds to go.
Jordan led Kentucky State with 14 points, seven assists and three steals.
