VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Jubril Adekoya scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Alec Peters added 18 points and Valparaiso beat NAIA Indiana-Kokomo 78-40 on Wednesday night.
Peters scored 7 points during a 12-0 run in the first half and his basket with 6:48 left before halftime extended Valparaiso's lead to 20 points. The Crusaders led 53-18 at halftime.
Valpo mainly ran out the clock throughout the second half and played zone defense.
Nick Davidson added 14 points for Valparaiso (4-0), which made 7 of 21 3-pointers and shot 51 percent overall.
Micah Pier and David Kelly scored 8 points apiece for Indiana-Kokomo. Bryan Powell grabbed 10 rebounds for the Cougars, who were 13-of-49 shooting (27 percent), including just 3 of 23 from beyond the arc.
