Bradds, Luke lead Belmont past Tennessee St. 103-95
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Evan Bradds made 12 of 14 shots for a career-high 36 points and Belmont defeated Tennessee State 103-95 on Sunday in a clash of unbeaten Ohio Valley Conference leaders.
Austin Luke threw in 20 points, also a career best, as Belmont (15-6, 7-0), the defending OVC champion, shot 58 percent (36 of 62) and extended its winning streak to eight games.
Keron Deshields scored 33 for the Tigers, breaking 30 points for the first time in his career, and Tahjere McCall added 32, the second time this season he's surpassed 30 points. Wayne Martin scored 14 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots for the Tigers (14-5, 5-1), who had a five-game win streak come to an end.
Luke led the Bruins with 11 assists, Bradds had 11 rebounds, and Belmont led by 20 much of the game, surviving a 7-2 finish as the Tigers cut the lead to eight.
