DETROIT -- Matt Tiby scored 21 points with 11 rebounds and Austin Arians added 18 points to lead fifth-seeded Milwaukee to an 86-69 win over Northern Kentucky in the first round of the Horizon League tournament on Saturday.
Milwaukee (20-12) advances to play No. 4 seed Green Bay on Sunday. Eighth-seeded Northern Kentucky (9-21) ended its season losing seven straight. The Norse led once -- at 3-0 -- on a 3 by Tyler White.
Milwaukee's Akeem Springs hit a 3 to extend the lead to 20-13 with 12:02 remaining before the half. Arians later hit another 3 to make it 30-18 and the Panthers led 44-28 at halftime.
The Norse fought back to cut the deficit to 59-51 behind eight points by White, but Milwaukee used a 10-5 run to increase the lead to 13 with 6:17 to play.
White paced Northern Kentucky with 23 points and Lavone Holland III added 13.
