BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Chris Clemons had 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Marcus Burk had career highs with 15 points on five 3-pointers and Campbell held on for an 81-72 win over Stetson on Thursday.

Shane Whitfield had 14 points, Kyre' Hamer added 12 with eight rebounds and Cory Gensler scored 10.

Stetson (6-8) held Campbell without a field goal for more than five minutes and used a 12-1 run to take its first lead, 72-71, since the opening minutes on a layup by Angel Rivera with 2:23 to play. Hamer answered with a layup and, after a Stetson miss, two free throws to make it 75-72 with 1:22 left. Clemons hit 6 of 6 free throws from there, and the Hatters missed their last three shots, to seal it.

Campbell (7-5) shot 54.8 percent (17 of 31), including 7 of 12 from 3-point range, in the first half to take a 43-29 lead and led by as many as 16 in the second half.

Derick Newton had 16 points and tied a career best with 11 rebounds for Stetson.
