Canisius pulls away from St. Francis behind Robertson's 27
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Kassius Robertson hit four 3-pointers and scored 27 points to lead Canisius to its first home win of the season 91-81 over St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday.
Robertson, who hit 7 of 9 from the field and 9 of 12 at the line, has scored 20-plus points in four of Canisius' last five games.
Isaiah Reese finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Jermaine Crumpton added 12 points for the Golden Griffins (5-5).
After trailing 46-39 at the break, St. Francis opened the second on a 14-2 run to take a 53-48 lead. But Canisius stopped the bleeding, and regained the lead for good after a Phil Valenti offensive rebound and layup with 8:37 left.
A pair of Spencer Foley free throws pushed the lead to 78-68 with 3:58 remaining, and the Terriers (2-8) never threatened again.
Gunnar Olafsson scored 22 points to lead St. Francis.
