UAlbany Great Danes @ Canisius Golden Griffins
Canisius beats Albany 77-64 for third-straight win
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Phil Valenti and Kassius Robertson each scored 19 points and Canisius beat Albany 77-64 on Monday night.
The Golden Griffins (6-5) have won three in a row, and five of six, since a loss to Tennessee State on Nov. 23.
Both Valenti and Robertson did much of their damage from behind the arc, with Valenti hitting 5 of 6 while Robertson made 4 of 8. Isaiah Reese added 13 points for Canisius.
David Nichols scored 21 for Albany (6-5).
The Golden Griffins led by five at the half and pulled away in the second. A Robertson 3 gave Canisius a 49-37 lead with 13:29 left, and a Reese 3 extended it to 54-39 a few minutes later.
Albany never seriously threatened from there, cutting its deficit below 10 only once.
Canisius made 12 of 28 from 3-point range and had 20 assists on 26 field goals. Albany made 2 of 11 from beyond the arc.
