Sidibe's 19 points, 14 boards help Fairfield beat Marist
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Amadou Sidibe matched a career high with 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Fairfield to a 73-53 victory over Marist on Thursday night.
Tyler Nelson added 17 points and six assists, Jerry Johnson made five 3-pointers and had 16 points, and Jonathan Kasibabu scored 10 with five assists for the Stags (12-11, 7-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Fairfield shot 52 percent overall and even a bit better from the arc with 11-of-19 shooting.
Brian Parker scored 17 points and Ryan Funk 10 for the Red Foxes (6-19, 3-11), who have lost six straight.
Kasibabu's tip-in at 3:22 of the first half started a run of 16-of-19 shooting that extended to 8:24 of the second half as the Stags went from a one-point deficit to a 20-point lead and stayed in command.
Fairfield swept the season series, beating Marist 72-62 on Jan. 28.
