Taylor with 37 points, Rider edges Quinnipiac 112-107
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Jimmie Taylor scored a career-high 37 points to lead Rider as it edged Quinnipiac 112-107 on Saturday.
The 112 points are the most scored by a Rider team since the 1954-55 season when it put up 121 points vs. Lincoln.
Taylor was 12 of 17 from the floor including seven 3-pointers for the Broncs (14-12, 7-8 MAAC). Kahlil Thomas added 21 points; Kealen Washington-Ives had 19 and Norville Carey 17.
Taylor sank four 3-pointers in the first half and Thomas, Washington, and Xavier Lundy combined for four more to help Rider to a 47-42 lead at intermission.
Quinnipiac started the second half on a 13-2 run to take a 55-49 lead with 17:38 to play. Washington and Taylor then combined for four 3-pointers to put the Broncs back up 77-63 with 8:26 to go and they held on for the win.
Chaise Daniels scored 23 points for the Bobcats (10-16, 7-9).
