Wright State rallies late to beat Milwaukee 70-67
MILWAUKEE -- Justin Mitchell tied his career-high of 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Wright State rallied late to beat Milwaukee 70-67 on Saturday, snapping a two-game skid.
It was Mitchell's fifth double-double this season. He was 9 of 16 from the field for the Raiders (12-7, 3-3 Horizon League). Mark Alstork added 17 points and seven assists, Grant Benzinger had 14 points and Mike La Tulip 12.
Milwaukee never trailed in the first half and surged to take a 39-31 lead with 18:20 to play.
But Wright State battled back and La Tulip and Mitchell sank back-to-back layups to put the Raiders on top 53-51 with 6:42 to go. An Alstork 3-pointer made it 67-66 with 58 seconds remaining and Mitchell and Alstork combined for three free throws in the final seven seconds to keep the Raiders on top.
Brock Stull scored 16 points for the Panthers (5-13, 1-4).
