Central Connecticut State cruises past Maine 82-61
ORONO, Maine -- Khalen Cumberlander scored 13 points and had five assists as Central Connecticut State cruised to an 82-61 victory over Maine on Wednesday night.
The 21-point margin of victory was the largest for CCSU (2-3) since beating Bryant 83-51 in Dec. 2011. The Blue Devils snapped a three-game skid.
Mustafa Jones, Austin Nehls, and Tyson Batiste scored 12 points apiece for the Blue Devils, who shot 59 percent and made 10 of 14 3-point shots. Batiste added five assists.
Andrew Fleming scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting to lead Maine (2-5). Ilker Er made three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points.
The Blue Devils had an 11-point lead midway through the first quarter. The Black Bears made just one field goal in the final 8:25 of the first half as CCSU built a 41-24 halftime lead.
