Kennesaw St. cruises behind Ray's 20 points
KENNESAW, Ga. -- Kendrick Ray hit five 3-pointers and scored 20 points to help lead Kennesaw State to an 84-65 win over Stetson on Saturday.
Nick Masterson finished with 15 points and Aubrey Williams added 13 points and 17 rebounds for the Owls (7-12, 1-2 Atlantic Sun). Three players finished with double figure rebounds for Kennesaw State, as Jordan Jones and Zach Cameron joined Williams with 13 and 10 rebounds, respectively.
The Owls won the overall rebounding battle 55-39, including 13-5 on the offensive end.
Larry Dennis led the Hatters (7-12, 0-3) with 14 points, while Leo Goodman added 13.
Kennesaw State opened the game on a 7-0 run and pushed its lead past 20 (39-18) on a Ray jumper with 3:01 left. The Owls led 52-25 at the half. A Luke Doyle layup for Stetson managed to cut the Owls lead to 61-45 midway through the second, but the Hatters didn't get closer.
