King, Braxton score 21 each as St Francis (Pa) beats Bryant
LORETTO, Pa. -- Keith Braxton and Jamaal King each had 21 points and eight rebounds, Josh Nebo finished with eight points, 10 rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals and St. Francis (Pa) beat Bryant 75-61 on Thursday night.
Braxton made 9 of 12 from the field and had four steals. Andre Wolford added 13 points and Georgios Angelou scored 10 for St. Francis (6-11, 3-3 Northeastern Conference).
Braxton found Angelou for a 3-pointer to open the game and then made back-to-back layups to spark a 13-0 lead and the Red Flash never trailed. Bryant tied it at 19-all and pulled within one after two free throws by Nisre Zouzoua with 7:18 to play, but St. Francis responded with a big run each time.
Braxton scored seven points and King the other four during an 11-0 spurt that made it 30-19. King's 3-point play gave the Red Flash a 60-56 lead with six minutes left and sparked an 18-5 run to close the game.
Zouzoua had 16 points, Sabastian Townes scored 14 on 6-of-7 shooting and Marcel Pettway had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (5-14, 2-4).
