Fisher sparks Hampton to a 68-53 win over North Carolina A&T
HAMPTON, Va. -- Kalin Fisher scored 16 points off the bench and Hampton kicked off its Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference season with a 68-53 win over North Carolina A&T Wednesday night.
Lysander Bracey hit 4 of 11 shots from beyond the arc and added 12 points and Jermaine Marrow missed all five of his shots from deep but still managed to add another 12.
Hampton has now won eight of its last dozen games with the Aggies and has 24 wins in 35 games all-time.
Hampton held a 37-26 advantage on the boards, but struggled shooting from deep. The Pirates (4-10, 1-0) were 23 of 58 overall from the field and 9 of 27 from distance.
Amari Hamilton paced the Aggies (1-13, 0-1) with a dozen points. As a team they were 16 of 42 from the field (38.1 percent), but hit 9 of 17 from beyond the arc (52.9 percent).
