Sacred Heart holds off Norfolk State 61-59 in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS -- Chris Robinson made a late 3-pointer and Quincy McKnight added three free throws in the final 2:08 as Sacred Heart held off Norfolk State 61-59 in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational on Friday.
Sacred Heart (1-4) finished the tournament at 1/3 and Norfolk State (2-4) was 0-4.
Robinson's 3 and McKnight's free throws gave the Pioneers a 61-56 lead with 1:18 to play. Jonathan Wade made a 3-pointer to pull the Spartans to 61-59. McKnight committed a turnover with 19 seconds remaining, but Sacred Heart's Sean Hoehn forced another turnover with three seconds left to end it.
McKnight scored 18 points and Robinson had 12 to lead Sacred Heart. Charles Tucker Jr. added 10 points.
Wade scored 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting for Norfolk State. Kyle Williams had 14 points and Zaynah Robinson added 11 points and five assists.
