George Washington downs Princeton 71-60
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Jair Bolden scored a career-high 25 points, Yuta Watanabe added 13, and George Washington beat Princeton 71-60 on Wednesday night for its third straight victory.
Bo Zeigler added 10 points with two blocks for the Colonials (5-4), who made 16 free throws to Princeton's three.
Devin Cannady's 3 put Princeton up 34-33 early in the second half, but Bolden hit a 3 to spark a 7-2 run and GW led 49-41 on Watanabe's two free throws. Princeton closed to 68-60 on Cannady's layup with 37 seconds left, but Bolden sealed it with three free throws.
Patrick Steeves broke an 18-all tie with a layup to spark a 9-2 run, and the Colonials led 31-28 at halftime behind Watanabe's 13 points.
Cannady scored 23 points for his eighth straight game in double figures for the Tigers (2-6). He made three 3-pointers, reaching 167 for his career for sixth on Princeton's career list. Myles Stephens added 13 points.
