Rider beats Hampton 90-75 behind Alled
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Jordan Allen scored 21 points, including 5 of 12 3-pointers, and Rider surged in the second half to beat Hampton 90-75 in Friday night's season opener for both teams.
After 12 lead changes, the Broncs pulled ahead for good on Allen's final 3-pointer, which sparked a 14-4 run for a 75-66 lead with 4:48 to play. Rider finished with an 8-0 run to win its opener for the second straight year.
Stevie Jordan scored 17 points, Frederick Scott had 15 with 13 rebounds, Anthony Durham had 13 and made all three of his 3-pointers, and Tyere Marshall had 10 points with 12 rebounds for the Broncs.
Hampton led by eight points three times in the first half but a 3-pointer from Allen capped a 9-1 run to tie it at 36 at halftime.
Jermaine Marrow led Hampton with 21 points. Lysander Bracey had 19 and Greg Heckstall 11.
