Oguine, Montana beat Idaho State 75-64
MISSOULA, Mont. -- Michael Oguine scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half and finished with a career-high 15 rebounds to help Montana beat Idaho State 75-64 on Saturday night.
Jamar Akoh and Timmy Falls had 13 points apiece and Sayeed Pridgett added 10 points with eight rebounds for Montana (23-7, 16-2 Big Sky). The Grizzlies have won 15 in a row against Idaho State (14-15, 9-9).
Pridgett's layup gave Montana the lead for good at 25-23 and an 8-1 spurt, capped by Akoh's dunk, made it 37-29 at the break. Akoh made a layup to push the lead into double figures early in the second half, but the Bengals scored 15 of the next 22 points to trim their deficit to 48-46 on a dunk by Novak Topalovic with 12 1/2 minutes to play. Oguine made back-to-back layups to cap an 11-2 spurt that made it 59-48 about four minutes later and, after Topalovic hit a jumper to pull Idaho State within five, Falls made a layup and Bobby Moorehead hit a 3 and the Bengals trailed by at least eight the rest of the way.
Brandon Boyd led Idaho State with 19 points.
