HOUSTON -- — Jay Alvarez's 25 points helped Houston Christian defeat Incarnate Word 86-83 on Saturday night.
Alvarez also contributed nine rebounds for the Huskies (6-16, 4-7 Southland Conference). Michael Imariagbe scored 18 points while going 7 of 12 and 4 of 8 from the free throw line, and added seven rebounds. Marcus Greene had 14 points and shot 5 for 10, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc.
Josiah Hammons led the way for the Cardinals (7-16, 2-8) with 22 points. Dylan Hayman added 16 points, eight rebounds and two steals for Incarnate Word. In addition, Josh Akpovwa had 14 points and three blocks.
