WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- — Xander Rice had 26 points in Monmouth's 88-79 win against Lehigh on Tuesday night.
Rice shot 7 for 17 (3 for 6 from 3-point range) and 9 of 12 from the free throw line for the Hawks (2-2). Abdi Bashir Jr. was 8 of 11 shooting (5 for 6 from 3-point range) to add 21 points. Jack Collins had 15 points and shot 4 for 7 from beyond the arc and 3 of 6 from the free throw line.
Keith Higgins Jr. led the way for the Mountain Hawks (1-4) with 20 points and two steals. Bube Momah added 12 points, two steals and five blocks for Lehigh. In addition, Tyler Whitney-Sidney finished with 12 points.
