SAN DIEGO -- — Michael Ajayi had 24 points in Pepperdine's 83-77 win against San Diego on Saturday.
Ajayi had 12 rebounds for the Waves (9-10, 2-2 West Coast Conference). Houston Mallette scored 23 points and added five assists. Boubacar Coulibaly had 17 points and was 7 of 9 shooting and 3 of 5 from the free throw line.
The Toreros (10-9, 0-4) were led in scoring by Kevin Patton Jr., who finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Wayne McKinney III added 13 points and three steals for San Diego.
