Tekin scores 23 to help Siena fend off Rider 67-65
ALBANY, N.Y. -- — Zek Tekin scored 23 points as Siena beat Rider 67-65 on Friday night.
Tekin also contributed five rebounds and four steals for the Saints (2-5). Giovanni Emejuru scored 14 points while shooting 5 of 7 from the field and 4 for 10 from the line. He added eight rebounds. Michael Evbagharu was 5 of 10 shooting, including 0 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 5 from the line to finish with 14 points. The win broke a five-game losing streak for the Saints.
The Broncs (1-6) were led in scoring by Mervin James, who finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Allen Powell added 13 points and two steals for Rider. In addition, Corey McKeithan had 11 points and four assists. The loss was the Broncs' sixth in a row.
