North Texas defeats Tulane 80-76
NEW ORLEANS -- — Aaron Scott scored 19 points as North Texas beat Tulane 80-76 on Wednesday night.
Scott also added six assists for the Mean Green (15-12, 8-7 American Athletic Conference). Rubin Jones added 16 points while shooting 4 for 11 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 7 of 9 from the free-throw line, and he also had five rebounds and six assists. Jason Edwards chipped in with 13 points.
Kevin Cross finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Green Wave (13-14, 4-11). Sion James, Kevin Cross and Collin Holloway EACH added 17 points.
Scott scored 12 points in the first half and North Texas led 36-27 at the break. North Texas used a 7-0 run in the second half for a 66-56 lead with 6:15 left.
