Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar probably confused many a Cleveland sports fan on Thursday, as he wore a Kyrie Irving jersey during batting practice at Progressive Field before his team faced the Cleveland Indians. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers are across the country taking on the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

Escobar does share the same uniform number as Irving, and he told reporters before the game that LeBron James was his favorite player, Irving his second favorite. With Kansas City currently without an NBA team, it's not like Escobar is betraying his hometown by rooting for the Cavs.
Here's guessing that Escobar will be joining most Indians fans in sneaking peeks at how the Cavs are doing when Game 1 tips off later in the evening.
