Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will return to the Octagon in April.
Jackson, who has not fought in the UFC since January 2013, has agreed to face Fabio Maldonado at a UFC 186 pay-per-view event April 25 in Montreal. UFC president Dana White announced the matchup on Saturday.
Jackson (35-11) signed with Bellator MMA, in which he has since compiled a 3-0 record, in 2013. Late last month, the UFC announced it had re-signed Jackson, who stated he terminated his Bellator deal due to breach of contract. Shortly after the UFC's announcement, Bellator president Scott Coker stated Jackson is still under contract and the company would "protect [its] contractual rights."
The 36-year-old Jackson has not fought since a unanimous decision win against Muhammed Lawal in May. He left UFC on the heels of a three-fight losing streak.
Maldonado is coming off a second-round TKO against Hans Stringer in October. The Brazilian is 4-1 in his past five fights, with the lone loss coming on short notice in a heavyweight bout against Stipe Miocic.
A bantamweight title bout between TJ Dillashaw and Renan Barao will headline UFC 186.
