LAS VEGAS -- Two potential title contenders missed weight badly during Friday's UFC 183 weigh-in.
Kelvin Gastelum (10-0), who will fight Tyron Woodley in the co-main event, weighed in at 180 pounds for his welterweight bout -- nine pounds over the maximum of 171. It is the second time in Gastelum's UFC career that he has missed weight.
Flyweight John Lineker (24-7) came in at 130 pounds for his bout against Ian McCall. This marks the fourth time Lineker has failed to reach the 126-pound weight limit prior to a UFC fight. The Brazilian had successfully made weight in his previous two fights.
Each fighter was fined 30 percent of his individual fight purse, according to UFC officials. Fines go to their respective opponents. Both fights will go on as scheduled.
Woodley (14-3) weighed in at 170.5 pounds. McCall (13-4-1) tipped the scales at 126.
"I just got news my opponent is about nine pounds overweight," Woodley said in an online video he released prior to the weigh-in. "It's terribly unprofessional. If it had been his first time, maybe I wouldn't be as upset.
"I really think it's just something to take me off my focus. I've had an amazing camp. My weight has slipped off like butter. This fight needs to happen."
In the main event, longtime welterweight Nick Diaz weighed in at 185 pounds for his non-title middleweight bout against former champion Anderson Silva. Silva weighed 186.
