A welterweight fight between Jake Ellenberger and Stephen Thompson, originally scheduled to take place at UFC 189 on July 11, will now headline "The Ultimate Fighter 21" finale the following day.
UFC officials announced the switch on Friday. The TUF 21 event will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the same venue that will host the UFC 189 pay-per-view event.
Ellenberger (30-9) is coming off a second-round submission win over Josh Koscheck at UFC 184 in February. Prior to the victory, the 30-year-old had suffered three consecutive losses.
Thompson (10-1), who fights out of Simpsonville, South Carolina, is currently on a four-fight win streak. He holds an overall mark of 5-1 in the UFC, with three knockouts.
In the co-main event, longtime lightweight Jorge Masvidal (28-9) will move up in weight to face Brazilian Cezar Ferrerira (8-4), a former middleweight. Masvidal is coming off a narrow split-decision loss to Al Iaquinta last month.
