A flyweight matchup between former title contenders Joseph Benavidez and Ali Bagautinov has been added to UFC 192 on Oct. 3 in Houston.
UFC officials confirmed the 125-pound contest Monday, following an initial report by the Houston Chronicle. The pay-per-view event is scheduled to take place at Toyota Center.
Additionally, a strawweight bout between Rose Namajunas (2-2) and Angela Hill (2-1) was announced for the fall event.
Benavidez (22-4) will seek his fourth consecutive win. The 31-year-old flyweight is 9-2 in the UFC. Both losses came to defending champion Demetrious Johnson in title bouts in 2012 and 2013.
A longtime member of Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, Benavidez is coming off a decision win against John Moraga at UFC 187 in May.
Bagautinov (13-3) will make his first appearance since suffering a five-round decision loss to Johnson for the title in June 2014. He was suspended for one year after the loss to Johnson; a prefight drug screen produced a positive test for erythropoietin, or EPO.
Prior to his loss to Johnson, Bagautinov had won three consecutive fights in the UFC and 11 overall.
ESPN.com ranks Benavidez and Bagautinov the Nos. 3 and 4 flyweights in the world, respectively.
A light heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier (16-1) and Alexander Gustafsson (16-3) will headline UFC 192.
