Former UFC champion BJ Penn's first fight out of retirement will come against Cole Miller at UFC 199 on June 4 in Inglewood, California.
The bout was officially announced on Wednesday's edition of "UFC Tonight." Penn, 37, hasn't fought since he announced his retirement in 2014. He was originally scheduled to fight Dennis Siver, but Siver withdrew with an injury.
A former champion at 155 and 170 pounds, Penn (16-10-2) hasn't won a fight since he knocked out Matt Hughes in 21 seconds in a non-title bout at UFC 123 in November 2010. Since then he is 0-3-1, with losses to Frankie Edgar, Rory MacDonald and Nick Diaz. His bout against Miller at UFC 199 will be fought at 145 pounds.
Arguably the greatest lightweight of all time, Penn has been preparing for his comeback at Jackson-Wink MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Miller (21-9) will be making his first appearance of 2016. He is coming off a no-contest against Jim Alers in December. The bout was waved off because of an accidental eye poke. Miller has fought in the UFC since 2007. He was a contestant on "The Ultimate Fighter" reality show's fifth season in 2007. Penn was a featured coach on that season opposite Jens Pulver.
A middleweight title rematch between Luke Rockhold (15-2) and Chris Weidman (13-1) is scheduled to headline UFC 199, which takes place at The Forum.
