A middleweight bout between Rashad Evans and Tim Kennedy at UFC 205 on Saturday has been canceled, UFC president Dana White said Tuesday.
White told ESPN the 185-pound bout was scrapped due to an issue with Evans' medical work, per the New York State Athletic Commission.
When reached by ESPN, Evans declined comment, saying he was still in the process of gathering information.
Evans, 37, was attempting to make his 185-pound debut. The former light heavyweight champion is coming off a first-round knockout loss to Glover Teixeira in April.
Fighting out of South Florida, Evans (19-5-1) has been limited to two appearances since 2014, mostly due to knee injury.
The UFC has said it will not be replacing the fight on the card, which will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
