UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has booked his next title defense against Junior dos Santos at UFC 211 on May 13 in Dallas.
Officials confirmed to ESPN.com on Tuesday both sides have signed on for the championship bout. Brazilian news outlet Combate first reported the matchup.
The UFC 211 pay-per-view event will take place inside American Airlines Center.
Miocic (16-2) will attempt to avenge a five-round decision loss to dos Santos from December 2014. The two met in an action-packed main event in Phoenix, where dos Santos pulled out a narrow victory.
Fighting out of Cleveland, Miocic would go on to win his next four contests, including a first-round knockout over Fabricio Werdum to claim the title in May. In September, Miocic defended his title for the first time by knocking out Alistair Overeem at UFC 203.
Dos Santos (18-4) has been limited to just two appearances since that 2014 win over Miocic, due to injury. The Brazilian suffered a TKO loss to Overeem in December 2015 but rebounded in April by defeating Ben Rothwell in a five-round decision.
He was originally scheduled to face Stefan Struve at UFC Fight Night on Feb. 19 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, but that bout fell through when Struve pulled out with an injury.
Dos Santos called for a replacement fight against fellow contender Fabricio Werdum, but the UFC was unable to book that matchup.
Combate reported on Tuesday the UFC has targeted a fight between Werdum (21-6-1) and Rothwell (36-10) on the same UFC 211 pay-per-view event; however, UFC officials have not confirmed that matchup.
