Bellator MMA has booked a bantamweight title fight between Eduardo Dantas and Darrion Caldwell on April 14 in Budapest, Hungary.
Officials announced the 135-pound championship bout on Wednesday. The Bellator 177 event will take place inside Budapest Sports Arena and will feature live kickboxing matches in addition to mixed martial arts.
Dantas (19-4) will be seeking the second defense of his Bellator title. The 28-year-old Brazilian is a two-time titleholder. He first claimed the belt in 2012 and successfully defended it twice before surrendering it to Joe Warren in 2014.
Since that loss, Dantas is 3-0. He reclaimed the title last June in a five-round decision over Marcos Galvao. In December, he avenged the loss to Warren by defeating the former champ via majority decision.
Caldwell (11-1) is coming off a decision win over Joe Taimanglo at Bellator 167 in December. The former NCAA Division I wrestling national champion suffered his first professional loss last July in the form of a guillotine choke to Taimanglo, but he made the most of an immediate rematch opportunity.
Caldwell has recorded finishes in five of his 10 career wins, including four by submission.
