Yang Hansen posted an impressive double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Chris Youngblood added a team-high 20 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 111-84 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in NBA summer league action Monday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Yang, who sat out Portland's previous game because of an illness, was highly efficient, shooting 7-for-8 from the field while also dishing out five assists. The Trail Blazers had a balanced attack with four other players scoring in double figures. Jaylen Martin contributed 14 points and four assists, while both Quincy Olivari and Andrew Carr scored 11 points. Aliou Diarra chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Donovan Williams led all scorers with 21 points for the Timberwolves, shooting 5-for-8 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Zyon Pullin recorded a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 10 assists, and Rocco Zikarsky scored 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting.
Second-round draft pick Trey Kaufman-Renn added 10 points and six rebounds for Minnesota. But fellow rookie Isaiah Evans, the No. 33 pick, struggled, finishing with two points on 0-for-8 shooting from the field.
Portland controlled the game from the outset, building a 58-44 lead by halftime and extending it with a 30-22 third quarter. The Trail Blazers shot 52% from the field as a team and never trailed after the first quarter.
