Maluach's double-double leads Suns past Pistons

Khaman Maluach had 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 100-88 victory over the Detroit Pistons in an NBA summer league game Wednesday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

The Suns received strong contributions from Rasheer Fleming, who scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and 2026 first-round draft pick Koa Peat, who had 19 points, three rebounds and three assists. Javonte Cooke chipped in with 12 points off the bench.

Brice Williams led all scorers with 24 points and added six rebounds for the Pistons. Isaac Jones recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ebuka Okorie, the No. 17 pick in the 2026 draft, finished with 16 points and five assists, and Chaz Lanier scored 15 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Second-round pick Ugonna Onyenso added five points and four rebounds.

Phoenix established control early, twice building a 17-point lead in the first half. Detroit mounted a comeback, erasing the deficit and taking its first lead of the game on a 3-pointer from Williams with 6:19 left in the third quarter. After a brief back-and-forth, the Suns regained the lead for good on a dunk by Peat with 4:44 left in the third and pulled away in the final period to secure the win.
