Fantasy Men's Basketball
News: 6 hours agoFox tallied nine points (3-5 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds and four assists over 19 minutes during Wednesday's 123-103 preseason win over the Suns.
Spin: On the heels of his nightmarish NBA Finals run, fantasy managers are likely keeping a close eye on Fox's role this preseason. Even though youngsters Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper appear to be nipping at his heels for playmaking duties, Fox is set to open the season as San Antonio's top floor general.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: At 28 years old, Fox finds himself as the grizzled veteran on a team full of young, up-and-coming superstars. Fox's scoring in his first full season with the Spurs (18.6 PPG) was more than six points lower than his average for the five previous seasons (24.7 PPG), in large part because he had to share shots with Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. Also because he had to share minutes with Dylan Harper, who played well as a rookie and seems poised to pop as a sophomore. Fox's minutes and production could go down more this season as the three young stars all take on even larger roles.
