Atlanta Hawks reserve forward Mike Scott will be shut down for the next month or so to rest his left knee.
The team announced that Scott, who averaged 6.2 points and 2.7 rebounds last season for the Hawks, will undergo a series of nonsurgical procedures for his knee soreness.
The 6-foot-8 Scott was limited in training camp and has missed the first two games of the regular season. In his absence, Mike Muscala has averaged 11.5 points in 23.5 minutes of play.
The Hawks also announced they have waived Edy Tavares, who played one game this season and had two points and one rebound.
