Philadelphia 76ers rookie big man Joel Embiid is getting an unlikely boost on his quest to make the 2017 All-Star Game in New Orleans.
After Sixers teammate T.J. McConnell crushed the New York Knicks with a game-winning basket on Wednesday, Embiid tweeted out praise for Triple H, the legendary WWE figure, claiming he learned his stranglehold from Triple H (while also making sure to include an All-Star vote for himself).
I learned this by watching you, @TripleH

A few hours later, Triple H retweeted Embiid and endorsed him for the All-Star Game -- and picked up 10,000-plus votes for the rookie in the process.

On Friday, The Process paid homage to The Game, mimicking his infamous entrance. Triple H was impressed -- and voted for Embiid a second time.

As of the latest All-Star voting returns, Embiid was one spot and roughly 16,000 votes out of the starting lineup. Through an improbable ally, he seems sure to gain an edge.
