OAKLAND, Calif. -- Kevin Love said he hopes he won't miss additional time after lower back soreness forced him to sit the second half of the Cleveland Cavaliers' 126-91 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.
Love said he's planning to play Thursday when the Cavs host the Phoenix Suns but is day-to-day.
Love first started feeling effects on Friday when the Cavs played in Sacramento. He was limited in practice Sunday and tried to loosen up in a whirlpool prior to Monday night's game. He left in the second quarter after a pick from Warriors center Zaza Pachulia knocked him to the ground and further aggravated the issue.
"This sucks. Bad timing," Love said. "I wanted to end the road trip on a positive note, but this was a tough one."
Love was just 1-of-6 shooting and had three points and three rebounds in 16 minutes before departing. Kyle Korver started for him in the second half.
"I don't know if it was a product of the Kings game or jumping on the bus or sleeping [wrong]," Love said. "I don't know. There's no telling how these things come up."
Love has battled minor back issues over the past several years, missing games a handful of times. His back tightened up on him and he skipped a game last month out of precaution. Love said this issue was unrelated.
