The Toronto Raptors announced that All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry will undergo right wrist surgery, but hope to have him back for the playoffs.
The team said the surgery to remove loose bodies from Lowry's wrist will take place Tuesday. A source told ESPN's Brian Windhorst that Lowry is expected to be out 4 to 6 weeks.
The Raptors (35-24) enter play Monday night in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
Lowry, in his 11th season, is averaging a career high 22.8 points per game to go with 6.9 assists and 4.7 rebounds a game.
The Raptors play six of their next seven games on the road, starting with a trip to New York to play the Knicks on Monday night.
