Allen Iverson issued an apology Tuesday for not showing up for the BIG3 league's games in Dallas on Sunday.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Iverson, a former NBA MVP, did not explain why he was absent Sunday but said he has spoken with Ice Cube, the league's founder, to explain why he wasn't present.
The league had said it was investigating Iverson's absence.
Iverson signed on as a player and coach of Three's Company for the BIG3 inaugural season. Iverson hasn't been playing very much, and didn't play at all in his much-hyped return to Philadelphia.
