As seen in the video, the uniforms are a big change of pace from the Raptors' red, gray and black uniforms. Per the Toronto Star, one of the new uniforms honors the Toronto Huskies from the 1930s and the uniforms they wore for the NBA's inaugural season, featuring an icy blue color with white trim. The second commemorates Chinese New Year.
"The new additions bring the Raptors' roster uniform options to six: white for home games, red for the road, black for the road, OVO-inspired gold-trimmed home jerseys and the two uniforms made public Tuesday," writes Morgan Campbell.
The team is definitely not the first to commemorate the starting days of its organization with throwback-inspired jerseys, but it is one of only four to have Chinese New Year inspired garb, says Campbell.
Fans tweeted back to the Raptors wanting to know when the Huskies jerseys will be available to purchase. The Raptors said "as of now, October."
The logo at the end of the video with both a husky head and raptor will not be incorporated in the uniforms, just be used for marketing and promotions.
